Mississippi Delta

The Mississippi Delta holds a certain rhythm—slow, deep, and full of feeling. Over eight years, I travelled through the region, drawn by its music, stories, and the people who live them. What I found wasn’t just the birthplace of the blues, but a landscape shaped by history and resilience.

This series isn’t a complete study, just a footnote—fragments of life captured in quiet moments. The work was exhibited at the Monash Gallery of Art in Melbourne and later shown at the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi. It was also published as a hardcover book, Notes from the Mississippi Delta.

The photographs are simple, human and honest—just as the Delta asked them to be.
